Volunteers Are The Key To Our Success!

We appreciate your interest in volunteering for the United States Police & Fire Championships. With 3,000+ athletes from all over the country, more than 500 volunteers will be needed to make this event a huge success for San Diego.

Volunteers are vital for our programming's success and are often the first point of contact for our athletes. Volunteers help us deliver a quality experience for our first responders, public safety personnel, athletes, and sponsors. We strive to create a volunteer experience that is rewarding and positive. Whether this is your first-year volunteering with the Championships or you have been participating for decades, we appreciate your involvement and willingness to help us to produce the US Police & Fire Championships. We encourage you to invite your friends to join you for this unique community service opportunity!

WHEN: May 31 - June 7, 2025 (US Police & Fire Championships); we will require pre-event and post-event volunteer support.

VOLUNTEER SUPPORT:
Venue and sports assignments will determine specific roles and responsibilities for our volunteers. However, the general event support required during USPFC includes:

  • Hospitality
  • Logistics
  • Registration / Athlete Check-In
  • Results
  • Social Events
  • Special Assignment
  • USPFC Corner
  • Volunteer Check-in
  • Floater – to travel between venues to fill in if there is a shortage of staff

REQUIREMENTS: Volunteers typically serve a minimum of 4 hours and will receive training as well as a t-shirt and admittance into the volunteer hospitality area. Volunteers can help individually or work together in teams. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up for multiple shifts during the Championships, which will ensure we reach our goal of 500 volunteer shifts.

***We require anyone age 15 or younger to be accompanied by an adult.

BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING:

  • Give back to the San Diego community, support the first responder community and the hard-working athletes competing in the Championships.
  • Build your resume and gain valuable event management skills
  • Share pride for your community with others
  • Networking opportunities
  • Meet new people
  • Volunteer with your friends and HAVE FUN!

VOLUNTEERS WILL RECEIVE:

  • United States Police & Fire Championships volunteer t-shirt and handbook
  • Volunteer hospitality will be available throughout shifts

VOLUNTEER LOCATIONS:

  • Volunteers will be assigned to work at the Host Hotel (San Diego Marriott Mission Valley, 8757 Rio San Diego Dr, San Diego, CA 92108) or one of the sports venues located throughout the greater San Diego County.
